Tejas Networks Secures Major IP Routing Contracts for BharatNet Phase III

Bengaluru: Tejas Networks has emerged as the leading supplier of IP Routing equipment for BharatNet Phase III, winning contracts for 7 out of the 12 packages announced to date.

With this achievement, the company has become the largest supplier by package allocation under the ongoing nationwide rural broadband programme.

BharatNet, the Government of India’s flagship digital infrastructure initiative, is focused on expanding high-quality connectivity across rural regions by deploying a robust middle-mile network based on IP-MPLS technology.

The IP Routing infrastructure under Phase III aims to deliver scalable, reliable broadband services to every rural household.

Tejas Networks Strengthens BharatNet Phase III Presence with IP Routing Deployments

As part of this extensive deployment, Tejas Networks will supply its TJ1400 series of next-generation access and aggregation routers. These carrier-grade, indigenously developed systems are already in widespread use across mission-critical, high-availability networks in the country.

In BharatNet Phase III, the TJ1400 platform will be rolled out across nine states – Bihar, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur – and five union territories.

In total, more than 50,000 TJ1400 routers will be installed across 57,000 Gram Panchayats and 2,000 Blocks, significantly expanding the middle-mile network infrastructure required for high-speed rural broadband coverage.

Five PIA Partnerships Strengthen BharatNet Execution

For BharatNet Phase III, Tejas Networks is collaborating with five leading PIAs: NCC, Polycab, Invenia-STL Networks, GR Infraprojects, and ITI.

These partnerships will support rapid deployment of IP Routing infrastructure across multiple regions in India.
